Annual Dinner 2002

Manchester Chartered Accountants Student Society held its Annual Dinner at the Midland Hotel in Manchester on Thursday 21st February. The event was attended by over 450 people making it one of our most successful events recently.

The evening commenced with a full four course dinner before the after dinner speeches commenced. As a different approach this year we also held a raffle during the dinner to raise money for the Children’s Hospital Appeal with prizes such as; a signed Manchester United shirt, a signed Manchester City ball, Sale Sharks shirt and Lancashire cricket tickets.

The money raised to date for the Children’s Hospital Appeal is over £1,000 and we thank everyone for their generous support on the evening.

Following the meal and raffle their were speeches from our president Stephen Humphries and our chairman Andrea Allen.

After the more formal speeches were out of the way we were entertained by our guest speaker for the evening, comedian Venn Tracey before the main party left the top tables and the true partying began.

Once the tables were moved from around the dance floor and the disco started up people started to hit the dance floor and do what students do best…PARTY!

Everyone who attended the evening had a thoroughly enjoyable time and have been asking when the next event is going to be. Keep you eyes out on your work notice boards and we will keep you informed of all upcoming events as soon as they are announced.
