On 22 November
2002 at The Lowry Hotel, Manchester, MCASS, along with HMI Hitchenor Maher
and the House Of Fraser, staged what is set to known as the social event
of the MCASS year. The event was the MCASS & HMI Charity Fashion Dinner.
HMI, along
with LCASS, have staged similar events for many years in Leeds, and through
this have raised many thousands of pounds for charity. The charity chosen
for the Manchester event was Francis House Children's Hospice, which is
based in Didsbury in South Manchester.
After months
of planning, the 250 dinner tickets sold out within two weeks of going
on sale, and therefore a second release of tickets was made, the after
dinner tickets, of which many were sold for the evening. In total, including
the backstage staff, there were approximately 400 people in attendance
the evening, along with many local celebrities.
